Hi, just a quick note. Danny's breakfast birthday and cake was great. DJ came over later yesterday, we went to The Hungry Parrot (yuck) it's a pizza buffet, the boys love it there! They came back here and played Wii and play station. Jed is worn out today. He barely made it through a run to the grocery store but he did manage to eat a steak! Ok, that's it. We are off to clinic tomorrow for a full day of chemo..poor guy. Love Jed and Kristin

Hi. all is calm, all is bright, ha ha anyway, everything is going well. Jed feels pretty good. Savannah is headed to the cast party, today was the last show for their musical. They did a good job. Jed even made it through the whole show! He loves his musicals! I think he is the only 10yr old boy that knows all the songs from Rent! So nothing else going on. Tomorrow we are having breakfast for Danny's birthday and then cake at Adam's..yea.
Hi to Amanda, Jed's teacher, she had back surgery. Get well quick! Hi also to LV and Lv's mommy. We are thinking of you and sending you good thoughts and love.
Gotta go, it's redneck Saturday night..cops and Americas Most Wanted!

Yes we are still in the hospital....yipee. His levels today are .12, yup really. Today I was sure we were going home they even drew blood for a second count this afternoon...it came back the same as the morning one. Danny is here so I got to shower!!! That's always a good thing. Danny and Boy-wonder are doing their tandem power nap. We will try again tomorrow, he is being flooded with fluids and a recovery drug to get rid of this med so we'll see. Maybe

Hi Ya. Today is Monday and guess what his levels are????? ready? ok .25, yes really, they are .25. I am ready to either vacuum him out or wring him out. Anything to get this crud out so we can go home. I had an appointment in York this morning at 10, ok before that, I am not whining just relating the story of my morning, anyway. Dan took off work this morning to come stay with Jed because Dad is sick and can't be on the floor (gives bugs to other kids) Danny got here around 7:30 am. I was ready to go, not because I am punctual but because I was still awake. We got everything squared away and I left to run home to get jeans with no holes. Jeans with holes are not good for appointments. Now I have to back up here and tell you all that I have been kinda sick for a few days...not whining, just informing. So anyway I haven't really slept and I feel like..you know. I drove home , changed my clothes and started to get back in the car when I remembered I forgot the papers I Needed for this appointment. Of course I get in the house and can't find them. I can't blame this on anyone but me..too bad. I search and search, there they are on the kitchen counter..who put them there??? I am now right on time for my appointment but I need a coke because I feel sick, McDonald's drive Thu, I guess I'm not that sick because I ordered a hash brown too. I am 2/3rds of the way there, crusin in my little car, when I hit this HUGE hole, the whole right front just like fell in this hole and then flew out at about 45 mph. Thank goodness I was slowing down for a traffic light. Ok, I pulled over, it's not flat but looks weird so I drove a little more, yes I did that and I do know better but.. I was late! I pulled over again after not going very far because it was starting to be really bad. I get out (at Dairy Queen, they can't even be nice enough to be open) and my tire is kinda off the rim and the rim looks weird. Nice. I can change this tire but it would take me hours. I called Dad, who is sick, by now I am starting to freak out..just a little. I can only get the phone tree for the court house no real person, that's where I have to be. Dad got to me in record time, I took his car and I flew to the city and of course had to park 3 blocks away. I remembered at the last minute that I have to leave my cell phone in the car. This makes me a little panicky. I am running, well not really, but walking quickly and I have no idea what time it is because I DON"T HAVE MY PHONE. I get to the guard and he scans my huge bag and asks what electronics I have in there. What? None. I left my phone in the car. He searches it and finds my camera...ok, so what. I get this speech about how I know better and I have to take this back to my car before I can come in the building...I Am Late..(I think). After trying to explain that I don't have time to run back he says sorry you can't come in. I offered him the camera as a gift. He then put it in the gun safe and lectured me on how I should follow rules better..yes by now I am crying, yup I did, I figured it was what he wanted and I didn't want to drag it out so I gave the tears and red runny nose and all. He told me to relax..... oh, my. He eventually let me go up...unreal! I had my appointment all went well not as stressful as I had thought, just exhausting. I got my camera back from the power trippin court house guard and got to the car and MY PHONE, the world did not melt down while my phone was in the car.. oh thank goodness. From here everything works out well except for the fact that Dad had to take my car to the dealer to get a new tire , the rim was ok....thanks for small favors! I met him there and drove back here to the bat cave. Danny will pay dad for my boo boo when he gets back..poor guy. That was my morning!...Yes, I'm still kinda sick but I am back here and all's good. He will get his chemo tomorrow and then we go home. Even if we had left today I would have had to drive back tomorrow so this is ok. Jed is having a little school right now...and maybe will eat something later..I hope. So that's all that's new. I guess when I was complaining about nothing happening I should have shut up! Gotta run, the bat cave calls...Love Jed and Kristin

Hi all. We are STILL in the hospital. He is doing ok, looks a lot perkier this afternoon (watching the race). We are waiting for his methotrexate levels to come down. This seems to be a reoccurring theme in Jed's treatment. He is special ..he's a "slow secreter"...yuck does that sound gross or what! But that's my boy, slow secreter and all. His level has to be less than .1 for us to leave. Friday it was 1.7, yesterday it was .75 so I naturally assumed (what's that phrase about assume?) anyway, today it is~~~~~.5 nice. So who knows how long we will be here. So I guess we just do what we always do..hang out. I don't have much to write about, mainly because nothing is happening up here. Danny has been back and forth providing comic relief, shower time ( for me, Jed refuses to shower here) and snacks. Other than that there is nothing...oh wait we went to the ER this morning for a chest xray..it's fine but at least we went somewhere.
Savannah had her musical opening last night. The Wizard of OZ, she is a munchkin and a tree, we go next Saturday to see her. She is just always off to here or there doing this and that, you know, any reason to drive! So that's all the news. Now I have to go back to the bat cave. Love Jed and Kristin

Howdy. Jed is feeling pretty good. Today was Bingo day so of course he was up and ready by 10am! After bingo he played air hockey with a girl named Riley, she's 6 and they live near Delta! (that's not far from us) she has a form of lymphoma. I ran into another family up here who's son Alex, had AML, he finished his treatment around August but has recently relapsed, they are looking for a donor match. What a nightmare. Yesterday I walked into the rotunda and it was full of Amish people and in the middle was Barbie. She lost her daughter last May to Aml, yesterday would have been her 14th birthday so Barbie and her family came to say thank you to everyone up here...so nice. Jed loves the fact that she is Amish and her name is Barbie!!!!!
Jed looks good so we can't complain, compared to what goes on up here Jed is doing VERY well. He is a little pukey but that's the fun of chemo. Right now he is having school. She brought a computer game so he let her in! The last couple of times the teachers tried to come they wanted to read, he cried and threw a fit saying he was too sick. Amazing, show up with a computer instead of a book and he feels well enough to check it out!!!
We hope to be out by the weekend.... :) That's about it. Love Jed and Kristin

Monday, March 3, 2008

Howdy. Jed had a good weekend. Saturday he was up and dressed by 8:30 am! Now this is the kid that I sometimes have to wake at 5pm because he has been sleeping all day! He was excited for the day of cooking with his Uncle Adam. He was picked up, they shopped for all the stuff and then they cooked all day. It was all delicious. They sauteed shrimp, they breaded and fried shrimp and oysters, steamed oysters, made crab cakes, sauteed scallops and grilled steak. There was also all the side stuff. Big Feast! We ate about 6:30 and by 7 Jed was having a meltdown. He was soooo tired, all he wanted to do was go home and sleep. I had just finished eating so he and I left. Dan and Savannah stayed to eat cake and help clean up. I told Jed he saved me from at least another 1,000 calories by making me get up because I would have picked while I sat at the table even though I was full! Jed and I did get cake though, I ate mine in bed Saturday night! awesome food, I think dad liked his birthday dinner.
Sunday Jed and Dan went to the game store so Jed can do whatever it is he does with his games. Trades them and stuff like that! So he had new games to play Sunday evening. He fell asleep at 6:30 pm anyway! I think he was still recovering from Saturday. He had some problems sleeping last night (probably because he went to bed so early!) so I was in there hanging out a lot. He was up and dressed this morning again at about 9:30! He is now taking a nap! He has this yucky crappy cough and stuffy nose thing going on. Poor guy. Tomorrow we go to clinic, the plan is to be admitted for 3-4 days of chemo but I don't know if that's going to happen because of this cough and runny nose. But of course I still have to do all the laundry and pack and straighted up just in case we do stay. I guess I could just leave tomorrow with the dishes in the sink and the sheets in the washer and all the laundry on the floor but I won't. Danny and Savannah are so busy it would all be there when we got home anyway!
I think that is all that's going on in our extremely exciting lives. Whoo hoo! I'll let ya all know what happens tomorrow. Love Jed and Kristin
