Hi spinal tap day is over... yea. He woke up in a great mood..not normal so I thought oh good he's not too freaked out we should have a good day, considering he has a procedure. He was fine all the way there and then he started to get anxious and then he felt sick but he calmed himself with a new game on his DS. of course the battery went dead and he didn't bring his charger. So it was back to being miserable. When we got to the OR and when he got up on the table he was so chatty to the girls and Dr. Freiburg. He went out immediately when they gave him his "white stuff". Everything went fine and he woke up immediately after they were all finished. I usually have to wait at least an hour. I even bought a new magazine to read..oh well. He was in a pretty good mood. He hadn't eaten since the night before so we had to do the KFC stop on the way home. In the car he ate 2 pieces of chicken, a half of a biscuit and 2 servings of mashed potatoes and gravy! While he was eating all this he talked about what he wanted for dinner! He decided we would go home, he would find some recipes he liked, he would make a list and I could take him to the store to get it all. Ok, fine whatever you want..what am I supposed to say? I'd like to say "Jed, I hate the grocery store, it takes all my money and whatever I buy is gone in a day. We should eat cereal." Of course that is not what I said, well I might have..in a joking manner. Anyway as soon as we get in the door he runs upstairs and throws up all his KFC. YUCK. Poor guy, he laid down for a little, then he got up and looked at a cookbook. He made his list and Savannah drove us to the store, he shopped, we just followed behind. We saw Uncle Adam. Jed wanted a chocolate shake from McDonald's & I needed coffee (Savannah says I'm a loser because I like McD's coffee better that Starbucks, whatev). So as soon as we get home he runs up the stairs and throws up all his milk shake...eeeuuu. He was miserable, he wanted to cook his dinner but he felt horrible, he was hungry but too pukey to eat and on top of all that he is sore, stiff and bruised from falling down the stairs yesterday. Yes, he fell all the way down. If you have ever seen our stairs than you know how not nice it would be to fall down them. They are VERY steep and wood. They have traction strips on them but he missed it and his foot slid and he just went all the way down..on his back. His back is scraped and bruised. His bones always hurt anyway so this just makes it that much worse. Poor guy. He is sleeping now in our bed, I filled him full of pain and nausea meds. I might just let him sleep with Danny so I don't have to wake him up. We used to all fit in that bed but not anymore, I'll sleep in his room. It was so nice out and he didn't get to enjoy it at all. His blood counts are right on the line but Dr. Unger didn't want to give him blood yet so that means we might have to go back up there later in the week if he feels bad. How do I tell if he feels bad from chemo or he feels bad because he needs blood?! Anyway Dr. Unger was off to Rome this afternoon, he says its for a conference..yea, ok. All in all this day sucked but the weather was wonderful. It's almost 8pm and just now getting dark...love that! So that's the saga of our day...poopy as it was we have had worse. Tomorrow will bring better things..I hope. I just want him to feel better. Next Tuesday we are supposed to be admitted for 4 days of chemo but I doubt if his counts will be high enough. He hasn't really bottomed out yet from this last round. I'll keep you posted. Hi to teacher Amanda...get better soon.
Thanks to all of those that have given or are giving to Mini-THON. We are appreciative of everything. Hildebrands.. YOU ROCK! Awesome family.
Well I guess I'm going now, maybe I'll read some more of A New Earth..ya know that Oprah book? I shouldn't even get started talking about that book. I want so bad to do what it says but..yea right, Biggest Loser is on..much better. Love Jed and Kristin

Hi. Nice day today and we are watching the Kid's Choice Awards right now! Jed went to his Dad's today for a few hours. He is feeling pretty good, looks good too.He was excited to see his little brother and sister. Danny and I rode this morning...I rode with him because it was too cold to ride a motorcycle alone! Turns out it was too cold to ride together too! I thought maybe if we just acted like we expected warm weather it would happen..well it didn't quite work out that way! It warmed up this afternoon but by then Danny, Savannah and I were out getting something to eat. We met Jed at Mom and Dad's, hung around long enough to help teach them how to shop for ringtones online! Hysterical, of course the guys loved the fart sounds! Who woulda thought they had "ringtones" that sounded like really gross farts....eeeuuu. We left before Dad decided which one he wanted.

Jed decided he had to have KFC tonight...oh man how bad is that stuff?! Of course only extra crispy will do! I am looking at him now on the couch which has a white cover on it and he is almost the same color as the couch! Did you ever see that movie with the bald kid that had special powers? I think it was called Powder. Anyway Jed looks just like that guy! So extra pale and he is getting tall and thin. I always thought it would be hard to find someone whiter than Savannah....Jed's got her beat!
That's it for our day. America's Most Wanted is on now...yes "redneck" Saturday night! Yes, Dave Dietz it's your night! Hey your wife said it not me! Ok time to go. Love Jed and Kristin

Howdy. Nothing happening here. Savannah is getting deep into preparations for Red Lion's mini thon. Jed is still sleeping. He is feeling ok, some stomach pain randomly but other than that all's well with him. No steak last night!!!! YEA!
Soon it will be time to go out and clean up all the neighbor's leaves from my flowers and put down new dirt and all that good stuff. I want to plant stuff but I have to make myself wait or it will all freeze.
The news said today is the 29th anniversary of the TMI accident. Oh my god I really am old! I remember when that happened. My parents were waiting to see if we were going to have to leave and I was appalled at the fact that we were leaving the horses behind! It's strange when I think of that because I was 9 and it seems so clear..weird, and I didn't have any idea of what was happening anyway. Ok, as you can tell there is not much going on here. I could do MORE laundry or clean or any number of things but I can't seem to motivate myself!
A note to Trish and Pete, thinking of you often, Jed and I are always so glad to read your comments..just to hear from you. And a note to our Gamma Phi friend
LV. Hang in there girl, your mom will be so proud when she realizes how much you have done for her lately. You are doing a fantastic job. Make sure you ask for help and get some sleep. Jed says to tell your mom "you can do this" and I am telling you "you can too". We love you and send you both strength and love. Call me ANYTIME. I guess that's it, now I guess I am forced to go do stuff. Yipee.
Love Jed and Kristin

Howdy. Nothing much happening. Hop came and stayed with Jed this morning while I went to the Dr. I have to keep going because work always wants more paper work. That doesn't add to the stress or anything..right?! Making and keeping an appointment is a pain in the a#!~! Anyway, then we went to lunch. The rest of today has just been laundry (me) and chillin'. Wednesday is always a hangover day. Post clinic hangover! Jed always feels crappy from the chemo and I always feel like I'm in a fog all day...well I know that's not unusual for me but it's worse on Wednesdays! I think of all the stuff I should be doing and I don't want to do anything! Jed just yelled down and said he wants steak... AGAIN tonight...guess I'm going BACK to the grocery store after Dan gets home..whoo hoo, I should buy stock in the Giant. I think I'll send Savannah...yea! I think that's it. Nice and calm here..

Hi Everyone. A few hours ago I thought for sure I was going to be doing this update from the 7Th floor...but nope! Yeaaaa! We gave him all the nausea meds he could have and he still puked all day. He was either asleep or puking, not a fun day. All of a sudden around 4pm he had a fever, 20 minutes later it was gone! He felt horrible and wanted to stay in the hospital, thank goodness there were no rooms. His counts are great, he got all his chemo today, it was not a great day but he got all the chemo in. He felt a little better around 6pm and we headed home a little after that. This was only a 10 hour cl inc visit! Of course on the way home I had to stop at the grocery store and buy fillet and chicken and carrots and a cheese log with crackers! Wow I think his belly is better! He ate all the steak but thank goodness decided to wait till tomorrow for the chicken and the rest of his stash! OH what a day but hey, we are home and he is not puking right now so all is well. Biggest loser is on, great, I had 2 Hershey bars today! Not a good diet day. oh well.
We received the nicest cards from our Gamma Phi friend Liz. Thanks so much Liz, as for the super mom compliment thanks but I really feel more like slacker mom sometimes with all the just hanging around I have been doing! LV and LV's mommy, we are thinking of you both and send our love.
Love Jed and Kristin
Oh Jed was asked to be Best Man in the wedding of Travis and Cindy. Travis is our driver for the make-a-wish truck convoy! How cool! He said he thought and thought and could not come up with a better best man! He called last night and asked Jed and Jed said yes!

The guys at the ESPN Zone!
Hi. I hope everyone had a good holiday. Ours was good. We went to Mommo and Hop's for dinner yesterday. Lasagna..yum. Saturday Danny decided he wanted to take Jed to the ESPN Zone, so after Savannah was finished working we went to the harbor. The guys hung out and played at the ESPN Zone, Savannah and I shopped. We ended up at Urban Outfitters buying T-shirts! Savannah got 1 that says Obama for your Mama! Mine says, friends don't let friends vote republican! Anyway we had fun and then we went to Phillips for seafood. It was soo good. Jed sometimes has a hard time eating, he gets full or sick after just a bite or 2 so he didn't eat much but the rest of us did! Savannah noticed that the Body Works exhibit was at the Science Center so we went there to check it out. It was incredible. If you get a chance to see it you should. We even bought a big book about it so Mom and Dad could see it. Jed liked it but after awhile he got bored and tired! Danny had to walk all the way to the other side of the Harbor to get the car and come pick us up because Jed said he could not walk that far. We had a great day and of course when we got home I had to make garlic chicken and mashed potatoes and steamed carrots for Jed! It was fun and I just love being at the Harbor, of course I'd rather be in Fells Point but at least I was near the water! Of course we got Nothing done around here but..oh, well going somewhere is WAY better! The kids didn't even fight at all! I am amazed!

Back to clinic tomorrow. Jed has an all day chemo scheduled...if his counts are good enough. That's all for now, I have to get ready to go to the dentist...whoo the excitement!

Hi, just had to show you all this. I have this calender hanging on the inside of the bathroom door. It's all pics of St. John where my brother was married. We got to spend 3 quick days there and it is where we all want to go again. I wrote "I am here" on the bottom and yesterday I noticed that Jed had added himself complete with a little stick figure! What a nut!

He woke up throwing up this morning, still feels yucky but he made sure he texted his sister to pick him up after school to go to Rita's for free icee day! I guess your never too pukey for Rita's!

I have started slowly cleaning out his room..VERY slowly! I went through his clothes yesterday and I am putting his dresser together tonight. There might be something going on with his room. Amy (DJ's mom) called and mentioned maybe doing a room make over kinda thing for him. Is that cool or what?! I am not saying anything to Jed about it right now because I don't know if that's gonna work out or not but we'll see . The idea was great and so nice of her to think of. Either way he'll get his room painted "Penn State Blue & White"!

I guess that's it for now. I am hungry and trying Desperately to stick to my diet. oh yipee. Just thought I'd through that little complaint in there, I feel better now that I've "shared"!

See ya, Love Jed and Kristin

The King on his Throne
Hey just had to tell you all this, Jed told me at 5 pm "I would like to eat at 6pm". He said he wanted me to know so I could start cooking at the correct time! He and Dan got involved racing on the Wii so Jed ran in and said " ah, just hold off on dinner right now we're racing". Yes king Jed. and I am embarrassed to say I just delivered a plate of steak, scallops, mashed potatoes and a dinner roll to him in his room. Yes I really did, smack me. I wonder if I am finished for the evening or if I'm still on call for the kitchen? I guess I have to ask the King. Oh my, I have created a monster! Love J & K
Hi everyone. We are home from clinic. He was scheduled for an all day chemo but last night and this morning he felt really horrible so Dr. Unger made a deal with him. Today he got the chemo drug that they just push in and next week he will get the all day drip. His counts are great, he has a white count of more than 5! That's not .5 like normal, that's a real whole 5! His ANC is 4,200! Wow! I hope it all stays that way until next week. Since we left clinic he seems to have made a miraculous recovery! We went to home depot and got paint for his room. The whole way around the room about 6ft high will be Penn State blue, the rest and the ceiling will be white. His design! He also wants a big Penn State logo painted on 1 wall. I need to try to find a stencil or something. He got a new dresser. I haven't put it together yet. Poor Jed, we started construction on part of the house that was going to be Jed's new room 2 summers ago but when Jed got sick everything stopped so he is going to stay in his old room but it has no closet. That room is a wreck. There is just stuff everywhere. So the plan is to empty it..to where I have no idea there is no room anywhere in this house! Paint it and then try to figure out some storage ideas. He has to be able to get to the stuff but it also has to have a place to be put away. I need one of those organization people from TV to come here! So this should be a real project. I'll keep you updated on how it's going. Maybe I'll start tonight and put up some "before" shots! There might be "after" shots in a year or so!
So anyway he is feeling much better, we had to stop and get...yup, steak and scallops again. Thank god they are on sale. He didn't want any scallops last night so Dan ate them (it was for his birthday anyway) but now he swears he yelled to me as I was going down the stairs to please save him some..right. He had a little meltdown after he ate his steak last night. He wanted me to go back to the store and get more..ha. So now he has them again and I am broke..again. He really needs to start craving mac n cheese and hot dogs or something.
Savannah is singing at the state capital today for show choir..lucky her! I think that's about it. I am sooo dreading this bedroom project!
Love Jed and Kristin
