Hey. So the CT showed no abscess..which is good. He got 2 bags of blood..he is much pinker now...his lips came back! The pain in his jaw is still pretty bad,,,waiting right now for an ok from the Dr. to give him an extra dose of IV morphine. Love weekend nights, everything takes 10 times longer to get approved and acted on. Denise our lovely friend and housekeeper extraordinaire brought me coffee on her way in for night shift. YAY..thanks Denise.
So we are just doing what we always do..hanging around. We REALLY need to get out. Tuesday is his last chemo and I want him to walk into clinic and see his sign. Oh god, what if we are still here by Saturday????? I am not going to think about that. This is slightly stressful. If we can get through tonight with no fevers and his blood counts show some improvement in the morning then i know it's all good and headed the right way. Of course there is always that little part that has to remember if his counts continue to drop....they can't go much lower..but if they do, then we are going to have to think about a bone marrow aspiration. I actually was thinking of it all week because he was so worn out and I'd feel much better with an all clear of his marrow. His blood has no sign of leukemia cells but I want to know his marrow is clean. Then there is the side of the argument that says an aspiration on a kid with no white count is not a good idea....just another place for an infection to start cooking. So that is basically where we are right now.....in limbo...again!
I will keep you posted on the drama up here in the bat cave. Danny was here for the afternoon and mom is coming up tomorrow so we are being entertained.
