September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Olivia 04.22.08 119

More than 12,400 families will hear the words "your child has cancer" this year. Over 4,000 of those families will lose their children this year. That is close to 11 children every single day that will die of this horrible disease. Cancer kills more children than asthma, cystic fibrosis, diabetes and pediatric Aids....... COMBINED. It spares no ethnic group, no socioeconomic class and no geographical area. It is random and causes are mostly unknown.

While the survival rate for some childhood cancers has increased a great deal,
several childhood cancers continue to have a very poor prognosis, including: brain stem tumors, metastatic sarcomas, relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and relapsed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

In memory of Jed and all children in heaven, in honor of those here, still fighting and those living with long term affects, help spread awareness of Childhood Cancer. Gold Ribbons are the symbol....get yourself one.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on October 2nd to help us raise money and awareness. We will find a cure....but we need your help.

Jeddie your care, concern and love for all the other kids has inspired us and is guiding us on a quest to find a cure. I am so proud of you. Your fight lives on...especially in the heart of your sister. She is bound and determind to do all she can do to put an end to the hell of childhood cancer. I know, I have pretty rockin' kids :) I miss you desperately and always ....Mommy loves you..
Love J & K
